1. Who provides Maran
Maran is owned and operated by Umit Hassan, 5 Lilliard Close, Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, EN11 0RU, United Kingdom. Tim Hassan handles support at timurhassan30@gmail.com.
Maran provides Bible reading, guided study, Scripture memorisation, quizzes and personal study tools. The intended launch audience is ages 13 and above. Any higher local age or parental-permission requirements also apply.
2. Your account and choices
Core reading does not require an account. An account connects purchased access and is needed for optional cloud sync. Use accurate account details and keep your password private. Contact support if you suspect unauthorised access.
Cloud sync requires a separate choice because study information may reveal religious beliefs. Account registration is not consent to upload private study data. See the privacy notice.
3. Free features and Maran Plus
Free features include reading and the available basic studies. The Free and Plus comparison describes the free and paid features. Plus is optional and unlocks the available deeper-study library and additional learning tools.
Study coverage varies. A subscription does not promise a deeper study for every chapter, every translation or unlimited on-demand AI generation. “Coming soon” does not guarantee a release date.
4. Prices, renewal and cancellation
The store purchase screen shows the applicable local price, billing period and any eligible introductory offer before you confirm. Monthly and yearly subscriptions provide the same Plus benefits with different billing periods.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. Cancel through your store subscription settings before the next renewal; if a trial applies, its displayed conditions explain when paid billing begins. Uninstalling Maran, deleting your Maran account or withdrawing cloud-sync consent does not cancel billing.
Use Restore purchases on Your access with the appropriate store and Maran accounts. Apple handles billing and refund requests for Apple purchases. Read Apple’s cancellation guidance or request purchase support. Nothing here removes your statutory consumer rights.
5. Scripture, studies and audio
Bible translations and recordings are subject to their respective owners’ rights and the permissions displayed in the app. Access in Maran does not give permission to redistribute protected text or audio.
Audio may use a different translation from the selected reading text; check the player labels. Recording availability and synchronised highlighting vary by chapter and source.
Studies are prepared in advance with AI assistance. They may contain errors or interpretive differences. Check important conclusions against Scripture and trusted scholarship. Maran is a learning aid, not a substitute for Scripture, pastoral care or professional advice.
6. Respectful and lawful use
Do not misuse accounts, bypass access controls, overload the service or infringe another person’s rights. Any copying or reverse engineering restrictions are subject to applicable law and the relevant open-source licences.
Community features, including groups and rankings, are deferred for launch. They are not available in the current release.
7. Giving
Maran is committed to giving 100% of its profits to support the work of God’s kingdom. A Plus payment purchases app access; it is not a donation made by the subscriber and no charitable tax receipt is offered for it. We do not claim Maran is a registered charity. Any giving updates will distinguish actual donations from future plans.
8. Availability and ending access
We aim to provide a reliable service, but outages and errors may occur. Features and content availability can change. We may restrict abusive or unlawful use. You may stop using the app, export local data where available, cancel a subscription through the store and delete your account in the app.
No statement here excludes responsibility or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Material changes to these terms will be identified with an updated date and communicated where appropriate.
9. App licence and contact
For an App Store download, the app licence is governed by Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement unless a custom licence is supplied for the app. These service terms do not replace mandatory store terms or your legal protections.
